Life Coaching for Family Members of Neurodivergent Loved Ones
I’m Debra Manetta, a certified life coach and longtime communications professional at an inner-city New York College. My work—both at the College and in coaching—is rooted in deep listening, clarity, and helping people make sense of their stories.
Coaching grew out of my own experiences navigating grief, trauma, and the complexities of having neurodivergence and mental illness in my family. It’s the work I felt quietly called to: supporting people who carry a lot emotionally and rarely have space for themselves.
I coach individuals and groups who:
● Care for Neurodivergent Children
● Have a Loved One with Mental Illness
● Are the “responsible one” or “strong one”
● Want to move from coping to thriving
● Are reconnecting with their inner voice
● Work in special education and aim to optimize the student-family partnership
My Approach
Grounded, compassionate, and practical. Together we build clarity, reduce overwhelm, and create structures that support your emotional and everyday life. I'm not here to diagnose or treat—I'm here to walk with you as you navigate what's real and find your next steps.
Life Coaching with Clarity, Compassion, and Evidence-Informed Tools
I’m a certified life coach specializing in supporting people who are navigating emotionally complex roles and relationships. I understand your journey – personally, emotionally, and relationally.
Clients often describe me as steady, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. I bring:
Deep listening
A space where you’re not interrupted or judged—and where your story is heard fully.
Clarity and reflection
Questions that help you untangle what’s yours, what isn’t, and what’s next.
Structure and strategy
Simple systems that support your wellbeing rather than add more to your plate.
Emotional endurance
Tools for staying present with what’s real, without collapsing under it.
